Chiari Malformation

neurological disorder that occurs when the bottom of the skull is too small, causing nerve tissues to become crowded. As a result, the lower part of the cerebellum, known as the cerebellar tonsils is forced down into the foramen magnum, the hole at the base of the skull.

This can block the normal flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), leading to pressure on the brain and spine, causing a wide range of symptoms and often triggering comorbid conditions.

After getting diagnosed with Chiari, I was beyond frustrated by the lack of resources, specialists, and doctors who weren’t educated on it. So, I began documenting everything in hope that others might find it useful. Helping you get the support and care you deserve is my mission- consider me your Chiari Ally.
